Assistant Food and Beverage Manager

Position Summary:
The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager reports to the Business Development Director and Food and Beverage Manager. He/She will be responsible for managing the dining room staff and assuring a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of the dining room. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager will assist in all Member Events as well as banquet events, serve as a trainer to staff, will perform opening and closing manager duties, and will create schedules and labor budgets for the dining room staff as well as assist with events. He/She will also work in a server role alongside staff as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages dining room and dining room staff as well as banquet staff when needed
  • Sets clear and concise expectations for every team member in every dining venue and event
  • Expected to provide a visible presence in the Clubhouse to assist members, guests and employees especially during Member a’la carte services but not limited to
  • Supervise, schedule and evaluate weekly dining room staff assisting with banquet schedule when needed
  • Serves as a trainer to dining room staff including training new hires, as well as providing ongoing training for current employees
  • Conducts and maintains F&B inventory to ensure club is prepared for daily operations
  • Ensures cleanliness of dining room and member service areas to provide highest quality of service to members and guests
  • Assures that all side-work is accomplished and that all cleaning of equipment and storage areas is completed according to schedule
  • Serves as a liaison between the dining room and kitchen staff
  • Preforms opening and closing manager duties of club
  • Directs pre-meal meetings with dining room personnel; relays pertinent information such as house count and menu changes, special member requests, etc.
  • Responsible for working alongside the Business Development Director and Food and Beverage Manager to maintain club systems and quality standards for members and guests
  • Assist in budget process, staffing and general operating procedures for banquets, pool concessions, and dining room staff
  • Assists Food and Beverage Manager in assuring that all areas of responsibility work within budgetary guidelines
  • Consistently model behavior that is in alignment with Cherokee’s values and leadership, earning respect of the Club’s staff, F&B Staff and Club department heads
  • Reviews and confirms F&B payrolls …time and attendance…and revenue analysis on a daily basis; giving to the Food and Beverage Manager for final approval
  • Resolves complaints from club members, guests and employees; providing redirection for employees as necessary
  • Documents all incidents violating club policy and reports these to the Business Development Director
  • Monitors conditions to ensure employees conform to and are educated on all safety procedures
  • Attends management and banquet meetings as scheduled
  • Performs other appropriate assignments and projects as required by the Business Development Director
  • Assists the planning and execution of member events based on anticipated guest counts and client needs
  • Designs floor plans according to reservations
  • Greets and seats members and guests
  • Maintains constant communication between all departments to ensure efficient results
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in similar scope and title – required
  • Detail oriented
  • Works well within a team
  • Leadership skills and abilities
  • Takes responsibility for multiple tasks independently to completion
  • Responds to quickly changing deadlines and demands
  • Manages interpersonal relationships of all types via phone and email
  • Keeps tasks organized and on track
  • Shares ideas and creates new materials to improve effectiveness of processes and procedures
  • Prefer a minimum of 1 year supervisory/management experience in a resort or country club setting
  • Previous experience working as a server required; experience within a similar resort/club setting preferred


Position Summary:
Cherokee Country Club is looking for energetic and dedicated servers to join our staff. With Golf season fast approaching, now is the time to apply. Experience is preferred, but will train the right individual. This position requires availability of nights, weekends and holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Present the menu, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food and service
  • Relay orders to kitchen and serve courses from kitchen and service bars
  • Garnish and decorate dishes prior to serving
  • Observe diners, respond to any additional requests, and determine when meal has been completed
  • Total the bill and process payment
  • Ladle soup, dish salads, portion pies and desserts, brew coffee, and perform other services as necessary
  • Clear and reset counters or tables at conclusion of each course
  • Wrap silverware and complete other side work
  • Complete other duties as assigned
